CHESS OPENINGS: PHILIDOR DEFENCE

1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 d6

This is the best way to defend the threatened pawn with a pawn (playing 2...f6? is plain bad). It provides black with a Solid but somewhat confined position. The F8 bishop is hemmed. This F8 bishop is designated a defensive role. The black Knight leaves the C-Pawn mobile and Retains its option of going to d7, but it is not without reason that 2...Nc6 is much more common than 2...d6.so, this is somewhat a very good opening technique that can be implemented in modern chess competitions.

  1. It’s a most common opening move played by a lot of players. This type of opening has been used since a lot of years ago and also the intention of it is clearly known like black plot in white sheet. So many innovative players try different moves to confuse their opponent.

  2. This move has dual capability as an attacking and as well as a defending one, but the defensive work is hidden work that can only be identified by master players. This had a rise in early days itself, that’s because of its uniqueness. As usual white has higher hand in this move too.
